Where we come from

1983

In 1983, Gregg founded Bullrock Corporation as a real estate management and construction company in the New York City area.

80's

Throughout its first decade, Bullrock led the conversion of thousands of rental apartment units, historic rehabilitations and redevelopment of neighborhoods in New York City.

Bullrock continued to branch out into commercial renovation and franchise development with customers including Fortune 500 companies, prominent law firms and national franchisees.

90's

Since the 1990s, Bullrock has diversified its real estate projects and investments with a focus on New England.

Early 2000's

Throughout the 2000s, Bullrock invested in the underserved market of senior care, becoming a national industry leader in the building and management of senior living communities.

2013

In 2013, as Bullrock looked to expand its investment portfolio, the company began to explore the nascent but quickly growing solar industry. Recognizing that Bullrock's real estate and construction expertise provided the company with a major advantage as a solar developer, in 2015, Mr. Beldock founded Bullrock Solar Corporation ("Bullrock Solar").

From its inception, Bullrock Solar provided vertically integrated solar services including development, EPC, O&M, and structured sale or hold of solar projects using its own balance sheet.

2010s

Over the ensuing decade, Bullrock became a leading developer in the states of Vermont and New York. Throughout this time, Bullrock entitled, developed, constructed and sold approximately 75 MW of solar arrays to high-net worth individuals, utility companies, banks and solar funds. Most sales were assets which Bullrock Solar developed from entitlement through construction.

2020

In 2020 Bullrock partnered with NxtGen Solar led by Mike Mills, one of our Managing Partners. Bullrock's development and operational experience, combined with NxtGen's tax equity financing expertise, created a natural team that enabled the companies to increase their footprint in the community solar space. Together they formed a joint venture and jointly developed a 150MW portfolio of community solar assets.

The success of the Original Project JV, considering the size of the portfolio, the efficiency and speed of development and financing, and the expected project returns, prompted the next evolution for these two entities: Bullrock Energy Ventures.

2023

In 2023, two finance professionals joined the leadership team as Managing Partners alongside Gregg Beldock and Mike Mills: Amory Beldock with five years of experience at Bridgewater Associates, and Sacha Bacro with over 25 years of experience at BlackRock. Together, the team built the investment management division of the company, enabling the company to raise and manage external capital to scale its solar development and begin expanding into new markets.

2024

Bullrock Energy Ventures launched its first fund in 2024 to scale its portfolio of community solar assets and invest in adjacent asset classes, including companies innovating across the renewable energy supply chain.

2025

In 2025 Bullrock announced its strategic partnership with Apollo Global Management, a premier global infrastructure investment company. Apollo's equity commitment will fund the development of Bullrock's nearly 500 MW pipeline of renewable energy assets. The companies formed a $220 million joint venture related to Bullrock's portfolio of solar assets in New York and New England.
